day seven: girls in pink, everywhere

wednesday, we drank. seriously, that's what we did. it was just one of those days.

well, i mean, we did more than just drink, obviously.

in the morning, rheea and i did yoga. arun didn't think that was enough so he made us do weights and work on our arms. we whined through most of it but, nonetheless, did it. then, rhee and i gave thambee and nimbuu baths on the terrace. soap and water everywhere. and then they smelled like little brown furry angels. well, at least for a bit. oh puppies.

after showering and dressing, the three of us headed to toit. toit is a brewery in bangalore that makes some of its own interesting beers. it's also adorable... very casual but nice brewery. the big copper plated tanks are in the main hall and there are three levels of seating. we took the patio on top and had a few beers, took a few pictures, chatted about anything/everything. the sky was overcast and i thought the monsoons would finally come. they didn't but the thickness of the air made our conversation and time languid like the moment stilled in the palpable air.

hiding.

adorable.

rheea says this is my morrocan look.

this is quite precious, no?

posing with banana spiced beer, yuck.

arun left us to go back and do some work. we went to levitate, this very posh store with hand-picked pieces or art, jewelry and apparel. it was more like a look than buy scenario. but so much pretty to look at.

pallavi, one of rheea's best friends here [and the one that is supposed to have a personality very simialr to my own] met us in an auto and we went to maraa. click on it to learn more but maraa is this innovative media collective that ekta, one of rheea's dearest friends, and her husband ram started a few years ago using different forms of media [radio, film, etc] to help educate and empower the underresourced individuals here in india on finding and using their own voices to speak about on what matters they are interested in. that sentence is probably not entirely accurate in explaining all the interesting things they are doing but check them out. it is fascinating. i am hoping to get a chance to go back to the collective sometime within the next couple of weeks to see some of the footage they've shot and some of the work they are doing more specifically. our purpose in heading there this specific night was to plan pd's bachelorette festivities.

at this time, these things are top secret. you will have to wait for an update of this saturday in order to know what is included in this batch of fun.

anyhow, after this, we all went to ladies' night at cirrus for dancing. girls had no cover, free drinks. like i said, wednesday we drank.it was pallavi, monica, ekta, ekta's very cool mom, pd, molly, rheea, myself, some of ekta's friends/coworkers-- and rohit joined the ladies that night too! seriously though, for some ridiculous reason, many many many of us were in some shade of pink that day/night. super odd and the source of lots of silly amusement.

it was great fun dancing to nicki minaj remixes and etc in an indian lounge with some really fantastic girls. AND even with the bars in bangalore closing by 1130 [a very strange city ordinance they have, c'est la vie], we had absolutely no problems filling our time there with boatloads of dancing and good times.

this is a rather cute shot of these two, i think!

rohit, molly, pd, rheea, and i squeezed into a cab and headed home. rheea and i came home, giggly and hungry, amusing a rather sober arun. we made eggs and toast and then scurried off the bed.

  1. An other review of a pub / restaurant. Toit. Heard of this place. Haven't been there. Will do soon based on this review.

Strange that Rheea did not do the moves on the dance floor.
